| How do most people hear about web pages on the Internet today? Is it through banner
ads? "Spam" messages sent to unsuspecting newsgroups? Not even close. According
to a study published in CIO magazine, there are two major
ways people find sites. Both rated about equally in the study. The first is non-web
advertising. This is where you plaster your URL (web page address) everywhere. Business
cards, signs at your business, delivery trucks, wherever. This is pretty much up to you,
although I have lots of ideas of places and ways to do this. The second is through search
engines such as Yahoo, Infoseek,
etc. All the other ways were far behind these two.
So, you can see that being on the right search engines and directories is vital to
getting your business found by your potential customers. That's why I include this service
free of charge with all web pages I develop.
